Privacy Policy
This policy explains what happens to data when you visit WhenReset.fyi. It is written to match what the site actually does today, including the parts that are deliberately minimal.
What this site records
WhenReset.fyi does not have user accounts, so it does not collect names, email addresses or passwords. Three things are still worth being precise about:
- Edge and server logs. The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data such as IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp in order to deliver pages and block abuse. This is ordinary infrastructure logging; the site does not build visitor profiles from it.
- The reset counter. The "beg" button increments a single shared number stored in a database. Only the total is kept — no IP address, no identifier and no per-visitor history — and the response you receive contains only that total.
- Approximate country. When you press the button, Cloudflare derives an approximate country code from the request and the page briefly displays it as feedback. It is not stored by the site and not written into the page HTML.
Cookies and local storage
Apart from advertising and third-party services, this site does not set cookies of its own. Two preferences are stored in your browser's local storage: your theme choice (whenreset-theme) and your language choice (whenreset-language). They stay on your device, are never sent to the server, and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
Advertising, if enabled, is a separate matter and is described in the next section.
Advertising and Google
If advertising is enabled on this site, it is served by Google AdSense. In that case: third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant.
Where required by law, a consent message from our advertising partner is shown before advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice later. This site does not sell personal information.

Third-party content
Some images are loaded directly from other services — account avatars from unavatar.io and images hosted by codex-resets.com and pbs.twimg.com. When your browser requests those files, the hosting service receives your IP address and user agent as part of the request. The site does not control those services or their logging.
Links to X (twitter.com) and to other sites take you away from this site; those destinations have their own privacy policies.
Analytics
Cloudflare, which hosts this site, adds a small measurement script (beacon.min.js) to each page. It reports the page path, the referring page, coarse browser, operating-system and country information, and page-load timing to Cloudflare Web Analytics. The site sees only aggregate results.
That script does not set cookies, does not write to local storage, and does not fingerprint visitors through the IP address or the user agent. Cloudflare states that it does not build cross-site profiles of individuals. Blocking static.cloudflareinsights.com in your browser stops it.
There is no advertising pixel and no cross-site tracking on this site.
How long data is kept
Announcement records — public posts, timestamps and links — are kept indefinitely as a public archive. Aggregate counters are kept for the life of the site. Infrastructure logs are retained by Cloudflare according to its own retention schedule, which the site does not extend.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Because the site does not hold accounts or visitor profiles, there is usually no personal data to access, correct or delete. If you believe the site holds something about you — for example a post you want removed — write to the address on the About page and describe it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR or similar laws, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Requests can be sent to the same address.

If this policy changes, the effective date below changes with it. Material changes — such as enabling advertising or adding a new third-party service — will be reflected here rather than announced silently.
